Etsy Listing Photo Size Guide
Every Etsy image dimension that matters, and a free tool to hit them.
Last updated
Etsy displays your listing photos across thumbnails, the main listing image and full-screen zoom, so starting from a large, sharp source matters more than on most marketplaces. Etsy recommends at least 2000 px on the shortest side.
Orientation matters as much as resolution. Landscape photos fill Etsy's thumbnail crop most reliably, and keeping your subject centred means the automatic crop never cuts off the product.

Frequently asked questions
What size should Etsy listing photos be?
Etsy recommends at least 2000 px on the shortest side so images stay sharp when buyers zoom. 2000 × 2000 px is a solid default; 3000 px gives extra detail for textiles, jewellery and art.
What orientation works best on Etsy?
Landscape photos generally fill Etsy's thumbnail and banner crops best. Keep your main subject centred so the automatic crop never cuts it off.
How do I make my Etsy photos load faster?
Resize to around 2000 px and compress. Straight-from-the-phone photos are often 5–10 MB for no visible benefit at Etsy's display sizes.
Does Etsy support WebP?
Upload JPEG or PNG to Etsy for the widest compatibility. You can still resize and compress here, just set the output format to JPEG.
How many photos can I add to an Etsy listing?
Etsy allows up to ten images per listing at time of writing. Using all of them (angles, scale, detail, in-use shots) consistently improves conversion.
