WebP to PNG Converter
Convert WebP to lossless PNG, with transparency preserved, in batches.
Last updated
PNG is the right target when you need a lossless file or an alpha channel: logos, product cut-outs, graphics destined for further editing, or anything going into a design tool that will not read WebP.
Unlike a conversion to JPG, this one keeps transparency intact and re-encodes without additional lossy compression. Drop your files and the output format is already set to PNG.
How to use it
- 1Drop your .webp files onto the tool above.
- 2Output is already set to PNG. Transparency is preserved automatically.
- 3Each file converts as soon as it is added.
- 4Download individually, or as a ZIP for the whole batch.
Frequently asked questions
Does WebP to PNG keep transparency?
Yes. PNG has a full alpha channel, so transparent areas in the WebP survive the conversion exactly. This is the main reason to pick PNG over JPG.
Will the PNG be larger than the WebP?
Almost always, yes, often several times larger. PNG is lossless and WebP is not, so you are trading file size for editability and universal support. That is a good trade for source files, and a poor one for images you serve on a storefront.
Does converting to PNG improve quality?
No. PNG preserves exactly what is in the WebP; it cannot restore detail that lossy compression already discarded. It simply stops any further quality loss from that point on.
Should I use PNG or JPG for product photos?
For photographs, JPG or WebP is almost always the better choice, because PNG files are much heavier with no visible benefit. Reserve PNG for graphics, logos and anything needing transparency.
How many files can I convert at once?
Up to 100 files per batch, 50 MB each, downloadable together as a ZIP.
