Frequently asked questions
Is it legal to remove a watermark?
Only on images you own or have explicit permission to modify, for example your own photography carrying outdated branding, or stock you have properly licensed. Removing a watermark from someone else's work to reuse it infringes copyright.
How well does watermark removal work?
It works best on semi-transparent marks over relatively uniform areas, such as a corner logo on a plain background. Bold, opaque watermarks across a detailed subject will leave visible traces. Always review the result.
Will the image quality suffer?
Only in the repaired region. The tool reconstructs the covered pixels from the surrounding area, so results are best where the background is simple and consistent.
Can I process a batch?
Yes, though results vary more than with other tools, so check each output rather than trusting the batch blindly.
What if the result is not clean enough?
Raise the sensitivity setting and retry. Where a watermark sits over detailed subject matter, a manual edit in a full photo editor may be the only way to get a clean result.
